ABOUT MEKY
My name is Meky, and I’m a certified beauty therapist with a deep passion for wellness and self-care.
After completing my studies in aesthetics in Italy in 2009, I began working in various beauty centres to gain hands-on experience. A few years later, I opened and managed my own salon for nearly two years. Following that, I entered a business partnership with my former employer, where I remained for over 10 years — constantly learning, growing, and nurturing my love for this profession.
Driven by love and curiosity, I eventually began travelling, and that journey brought me to Melbourne, Australia. There, I initially worked in hospitality while continuing to treat private beauty clients from home. After about a year, I moved to Singapore, where I worked in a Japanese spa and specialised in advanced facial treatments and massage techniques — a deeply enriching experience.
When I returned to Italy, I began working independently as a massage therapist, offering treatments across my hometown of Brescia, in Milan, and during the summer season in Sardinia.
In early 2023, I moved back to Melbourne. I worked for a well-known wellness company, but I soon realised I wasn’t able to fully express my passion and knowledge in the way I envisioned. That’s when, in September 2023, I made the decision to embrace the challenge of becoming fully self-employed — in a country that isn’t my own, but where I feel at home.
Over time, this journey led to something even greater. In March 2024, together with a wonderful colleague from the industry, we opened Zoccola — a shared studio space created with heart, humour and intention. While I still treat clients in my private room, I now have the joy and responsibility of co-owning the entire space alongside my partner Sam.
Zoccola is more than a studio — it’s a home. We’ve built a space where growth, beauty and community come together, and where every client who walks through our door is welcomed with the warmth and comfort of feeling truly seen, heard and cared for.
